The Offer so Good… You’d Think It Was a Cheesy Advert…(Marketing 101)

You Could Make a Killing: Short Story Collection Book 2 by [Bewick, Simon]

What’s the big deal?

For 3 days only, YOU can make a killing – my crime/ twist in the tale collection is available in the UK and US on Amazon for only 99 of your local currency.

Yep, that’s right – more than 50% of the standard Kindle cost.

That works out at a shade over 14 pence or 14 cents a story. Or around 0.0000165 pence or cent per word. (Stop me if I get to micro…)

If you’re sold on the idea already  don’t bother reading the rest just CLICK HERE to go on and buy it (*Note – UX experts say not to use ‘Click Here’ – it’s too generic, but this is me in author mode, not marketing mode, just one guy talking…)

It’s a book that will definitely make you more popular and gain muscle/ lose weight/ be more attractive to the opposite or same sex and all the other stuff classic adverts suggest without saying because that would be illegal. has some words in it.

How do I know it’s any good?

Well, one of the world’s greatest living writers claimed one of the stories was ‘nicely done’. And apparently he’s a stickler who doesn’t like much. I just wish I could name him, but a promise is a promise. All I can tell you is that the tale in question ‘”Bedtime Story‘” has had a few people comment that they liked it in even more effusive terms than Mr (redacted at threat of legal option or spoiling good will)

Here’s what others have said:

“A brilliantly varied selection of intriguing and thought-provoking stories”

“Each story had an interesting voice which captured my attention and enticed me further… “

“a very inventive collection of short stories with clever twists and turns.”

“A great follow up to Basement Tales…”

“Twists and turns all along the way, this book kept me guessing! Thoroughly enjoyed.”

I read in a marketing book that you need to make sure the ‘Call to Action’ doesn’t get lost…

That’s true: it’s an element of the Inverted Pyramid – the most important stuff at the top of your message. You have to do it subtly though. Not to put people off. Something like this:

YOU CAN BUY THE BOOK HERE FOR 99 PENCE IF YOU’RE IN THE UK – BUT HURRY!

OR…

IN THE US? JUST CLICK HERE – DO IT QUICK BECAUSE TIME’S RUNNING OUT  TO GET IT FOR 99 CENTS!

would just be vulgar and distasteful.

But with reviews like that surely you’re crazy to reduce the price?

. Being a small time author we’re reliant on word-of-mouth and reviews. With this book it’s getting a bit of the first, but not enough of the second.

By offering my baby book at this, frankly ludicrously low, price I’m hoping to surprise readers so much with the quality versus cost ratio they’ll have no choice but to leave a review…

It definitely DOES NOT have subliminal messages in it that I’m trying to force upon the world ny selling it cheap.

So why not just give it away for free?

I’m crazy, but I’m not THAT crazy…

Although… if you’ve got

Kindle Unlimited

then go on- you can have it as part of your subscription.

Maybe I AM crazy.

Can you give me a taste for free, like those drug dealers do in all the bad movies?

Wow, that’s…tacky.

How about if I tell you to expect all-new stories that will keep you guessing until the last line? Stories about:

  • A man who won’t take any more when he’s pushed too far, only to discover that speed really can kill…
  • A teenage boy living in the aftermath of his best friend’s murder…who may be the next target in the killer’s sights…
  • A bedtime story that is anything that could just be your worst nightmare…
  • Two veteran killers who will do whatever it takes to train up their new apprentice…

And much, much more…?

Nah, that’s not enough…

Demanding, aren’t you?

Well, you can always click across elsewhere on this site and find a whole bunch of my fiction I’ve made available for free– chances are if you like some of that, you’ll like this stuff too…(That link opens in a new window, because really I want you to stay on this page and click on the next link …because that’s the one that will let you buy the damned thing… take advantage of this amazing offer.)

Offer Open Until 3rd February: Click HERE to get You Could Make a Killing for only

99 Pence in the UK

or

99 Cents in the US

YOU COULD MAKE A KILLING – ON SPECIAL OFFER FOR A VERY LIMITED PERIOD!

PS

The PS, a classic element of successful Direct Mail used as key real estate because readers tend to skip to the end of a letter to see who it is from and so used by marketers to get their main message or supplementary across does not really work in online copy writing…

and yet here we are…

so…Umm, write a review if you like it.
