A busy week ahead…

Just a quick update to say it’s been a busy couple of weeks, but am hoping the effort is all going to be worth it over the coming days with not one, but two new publications: one all my own work, one I’m honored to have been a part of it, and my first writing gig in some time…

I’m making no excuses: I’ll be talking about these three things quite a bit over the coming days – please stay with me: I hope you’ll find it worth your while doing so.

Firstly...

I’m very happy to say that You Could Make a Killing, my second collection of short stories – all twist-in-the-tales crime and mystery, is now available for pre-order from Amazon ahead of its release on Kindle on Wednesday 17th, with the Paperback to follow in the next week or so after that: I’ll be writing more about that on release day…but in the meantime here’s the cover – a Saul Bass tribute from my clever wife:

You Could Make a Killing - release date October 17th. Art work by Nicola Young

Secondly…

On that same day (Serendipity? Pshaw…) I’ll also be giving an evening talk at the rather great ‘Temperance – a local coffee bar/ art venue. It’s a full house, with all tickets gone, so I’m looking forward to what I’m sure will be a fun evening of sharing some info about the strange world we call publishing and, I’m sure, some good questions and answers with local writers and readers on all things wordy.

I’ll be writing about the evening (hopefully in a positive way!) as soon as I recover from taking part in it…

Thirdly…

I’ve now had my ARC through of ‘Burning’ – a new anthology from a new publishing house: Burning Chair Publishing – who are new on the scene, but have got some great plans and, I have to say, did a bang-up job editing my shocking grammatical boo-boos.

Having seen the early ARC (That’s an Advanced Reader’s Copy for those wondering what the hell I’m talking about…) I can promise you there are some great stories in there…and mine alongside them!

Well, thanks for reading this bit of self-promotion. Marketing can be an ugly business at times. But don’t worry, there’ll be free stuff coming this way as well – including an article on one of my favourite authors from the British Isles writing today. No clues other than that…you’ll also find upcoming reviews and some resources for all you writers out there: including what is, in my view, the best writer’s manual of all time…

Keep reading, and feel free to follow with your family, friends, and, hell – pass it on to anyone you want to bug. I don’t mind.
