Throwback Thursday: Coming Soon

Today while clearing up my writing space I came across my old Macbook, last used approximately four years ago…(my son loved the Mac, I’ve never really got on with them myself but did use it occasionally for movie editing and sometimes a bit of writing…)

Anyway, I found some interesting things on there (if interesting is a synonym for embarrassing) that, with #1 son’s permission, I thought it might be amusing to post over the coming weeks.

So what can you expect?

Well, there’s a few videos including previews of our ‘must see‘ films and ‘best of the year reviews‘ from 2010 and 2011, as well as written versions for 2012-14. (Did I ever really have such high hopes for R.I.P.D.? Apparently so…)

In time, depending on the reaction (IE levels of ridicule endured…) I may include some of our classic C.R.A.P reviews – which, for those who for whatever crazy reason might not have followed the previous incarnation of , was our regular series where we would visit local charity shops and choose a DVD for less than £2 which we would then watch (me normally having a few beers), and then review on video (me normally with a few more beers – you can see how this could lead to embarrassment and why they have stayed hidden in St Michael’s Church, Fort Walton, Kansas. Front pew, right leg, hollow for these years since. (One for the movie nerds there, one for google for the rest).

Oh, and C.R.A.P reviews stood for Charitable Related Art Projects: it was only some years later we realized it could be construed in another way…

Imagine our surprise.

I may even get round to posting up the ‘cult classic’ Air of December – the 1990 ground-breaking (literally in one particular scene) at some point…

And just to minimize some of the 20-20 hindsight embarrassment I will be annotating those halcyon articles with my current day bitter and twisted cynicism…

First episode of Throwback Thursday scheduled for this time next week, be there or be…well, somewhere where you’re doing some more sensible with your time…
